Major Michael Lane
Major Michael Lane is a native of Warren County and graduated from Warren County High School in 1981. He then began studies at Middle Tennessee State University, concentrating in the field of Criminal Justice. In 1984 he was hired as a Deputy Sheriff at the Warren County Sheriff Department under then Sheriff Billy Delany. He Attended the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and graduated in 1986. While serving at the Sheriff Department, he rose to the rank of Captain.

In 1989, he was hired by the McMinnville Police Department as a patrol officer. He rose through the ranks again. In the fall of 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Captain and in the summer of 2011 was promoted again, to the rank of Major. Major Lane is assigned as Commander of Support Services Division, serves at the Departmental Training Officer and Quartermaster. He is also responsible for the various Community Policing initiatives offered by the police department.
